Konstantinos Ioannou, is a Principal Researcher at Hellenic Agricultural Organization “DEMETER” – Forest Research Institute at Thessaloniki. He holds a BSc in Forestry from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and an MSc, and a PhD in the field of F. Informatics from the same university. He is specializing in the development of Information Systems and sensor networks using modern computer languages and statistical tools. He holds two Post-Doctoral Researches in the fields of Sensor Networks and Expert Systems. In detail his work focuses in the field of Artificial Intelligence, creating and studying Decision Support Systems, Expert Systems, and Artificial Neural Networks in the fields of plan, protection and development of Natural Environment. He is lead author or co-author of 47 peer reviewed journal articles and more than 50 papers published, in various National and International Conferences and the holder of one National Patent. He is/has participated as Principal Researcher/ Senior researcher in 15 E.U and National funded research projects. He has teaching experience in universities, both at graduate and post graduate level. He is/was supervisor in 1 PhD, 11 MSc Thesis and part of the examination committee in 20 Thesis.
